"Win-Win"
Campaign:
A Reyna
win is a
Pflugerville
win
Support
Rod Reyna, civic leader and 14-year Pflugerville
resident, is joining the mayoral race.
Reyna is seeking
Pflugerville voters' permission to have him work with
and represent the City Council and the community on
                                          the local level and beyond.
He is a strong leader and
can be a "voice" for Pflugerville. To get out the May 12th
vote, he is launching the Rod Reyna for Mayor,
                                          "Win-Win" Campaign--a Reyna
win is a Pflugerville win.

                                          Co-campaign manager, P.J. Buerger, long-time
Pflugerville business owner, states that 42-year-old Rod Reyna has "time to dedicate
as mayor, experience to lead more effectively, and working relationships established to
get the job done. He will hit the ground running once elected, with passion, like
everything else he's done for Pflugerville. Anybody else would be playing catch up for
three years."

As current Downtown Planning Committee Chair, recent Pflugerville Council of
Neighborhood Associations Chair, and recent Saxony HOA President, Rod Reyna has
proven his dedication to Pflugerville's communities.
Rod plans to be an advocate for
both homeowners and business owners by championing economic development,
quality of life, and better communication/infrastructure.

Reyna says, "My promise is that I will build this community by working toward the
goals of Pflugerville citizens, in partnership with Council members, city
staff/appointees, and other stakeholders.
I care about Pflugerville with all my heart. It's
where I've established my roots and have been working in the trenches for Pflugerville's
families."

Rod and Cynthia Reyna have been married for almost 19 years and they have three
beautiful girls, one getting ready to go off to college, one in middle school, and another
in elementary school. Rod is a Research Specialist for HCC Corporation and a
Reserve Deputy Constable for Travis County-Precinct 2. He is a graduate of the
University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism and is an active member of
St. Elizabeth's Church in Pflugerville, the Pflugerville Downtown Association, the
Greater Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce, and the Envision Central Texas board. He
also facilitated the Wal-Mart Community Workgroup and served on the 2005 Travis
County Citizens Bond Advisory Committee.

City Benefits from Wal-Mart Opening [Pflugerville Pflag, March 1, 2007]

Excerpts regarding March 14 Grand Opening:
"The positive impact on those who live here is that Wal-Mart has led to a new road,
road improvements and stoplights. Citizens will be able to shop at Wal-Mart locally this
spring and we will be able to keep vital sales tax in Pflugerville," said community
workgroup facilitator Rod Reyna...

...Pflugerville Council of Neighborhood Associations moderated these meetings to
help determine the overall voice of the community and to make Wal-Mart better if
citizens supported it serving the community," said Reyna. PfCONA organized
interactive work sessions that purposefully included a diverse group of neighborhood
and community leaders and residents, some who had never been brought together
with one another before. Things were accomplished and solutions and consensus
came about that may have never been possible otherwise."

..."Wal-Mart will change the type of business that comes to Pflugerville, Reyna said. "It
already has been a major catalyst for large commercial development along FM 685
and Texas 130/45 corridors. This was a benefit that was planned for during
negotiations with Wal-Mart--to advocate that Wal-Mart be based on Pflugerville's
standards and set the tone for the look of future development in Pflugerville.

Pflugerville Mayor Will Not Run for Reelection [Community Impact,
February 16, 2007]

Excerpts:
Pflugerville Mayor Cat Callen announced Feb. 13 she will not run for reelection. Callen
gave her decision at the Greater Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce monthly lunch, a
few months before her term ends in May.

After Callen’s speech, Pflugerville Council of Neighborhood Associations Chair Rod
Reyna said he would run for mayor in the May 12 election.
Week 8 Campaign Update [up to April 7, 2007]

A Heartfelt Thanks:
My family and I are so grateful to have each and every
supporter working out in the trenches along with me.
They are introducing me to their friends, neighbors, and
clients, putting out signs or sponsoring campaign
materials, sending in donations, and getting out my
message of Pflugerville needing experience, proven leadership, and a coalition builder
in its mayor, to take us in the right direction--the people's direction--the greater good.

In order for this town to focus on theirs and my top issues of economic development,
quality of life, and infrastructure/communication, the 15,000 registered voters are
being introduced to me with their help as being the best candidate available for the
job
; plus, one who is fair, respectfully listens, is hardworking, one they can trust, and can
bring people to the table. They are informing potential voters that I have: a strong grasp
of the issues; have the confidence of the city's staff; have the endorsement of many
current/former cityschool/county leaders, neighborhood leaders, business owners, law
enforcement, teachers, and others.  I am happy to say that I have established roots here
and been active in the community for more than 14 years, including protecting each and
everyone's streets as a Pflugerville police officer and more.

No candidate has the public service experience and working relationships I have, if any.
And
none can proudly say that they have a broad coalition of people from all parts of
the community (neighborhoods, churches, and organizations) and beyond working
hard to elect them like I do.

Upcoming Forums/Events:

4th, at 7pm in the Pflugerville Justice Center Courtroom at 1611 E. Pfennig Ln.

April 21st - Rod Reyna Meet 'N Greet from 6pm-8pm - 505 Parkview - hosted by Carol &
Clint Fletcher and is also a celebration of her re-election. Volunteers should invite those
who want to get to know me better and why many are supporting me.

I invite everyone to come be a part of these forums and events, including ask questions
of the candidates. I am also blockwalking with volunteers and have the honor of being
introduced to their neighbors by them; or, they are attending functions with me.

Campaign Trail Notes FYI:
Since the campaign started eight weeks ago, I will have been involved in 67 individual
events and meetings in the community and counting, not including many calls on behalf
of citizens and business owners to city officials and stakeholders in the community--my
advocacy has not stopped with the election. These include: speaking before a group
(11); introducing myself to a group or at a community event (22); observing/participating
in city meetings as a candidate and citizen (20); candidate forum (1); meetings with
government officials (5); community banquets (4); interviewed (4); and blockwalking
(including having heart to heart conversations with citizens) and working and meeting
with many campaign volunteers and campaign donors who also want a better
community.
